InspirationWe began with the base question of, "Are you owning or borrowing you American Dream?" Afterwards, we found a video about the wealth inequality in America to give us some data.

Self Evaluation
What is your most important content take away from the American Dream 2.0 project?
I really learned a lot about my own father and his journey in depth, but I learned a lot about others' parents and grandparents and what they went through to get where they are today. Also when I did the research about the 80's decade I was really fascinated with the amount of changes, little and small, that happened in that time period.
What is your most important production take away from the American Dream 2.0 project?
Even though it isn't as perfect as I wish it could be. I feel I got better as a writer, forcing myself to try to show and not tell. All of the editing we did really helped me focus on paying attention to very specific areas of my writing. As for the actual roles we were assigned for the production of our book, I didn't really contribute as much for I had something else to take care of. I was assigned to the formatting of the second part of the book, the Student Reflections. Although when it came time to start, I was assigned in charge of creating the Crankie Boxes for our visual side of the projects. The boxes would wheel a scroll through which we created and tell the story of the person we interviewed.
What part of the project did you find most challenging?
For me personally it was the writing aspect, I am not as strong as a writer as others in my class are. Although I put extra effort into my work and really am proud of what I have created. As well little obstacles while making the boxes; pieces breaking, not having enough materials, little things nothing major.
As writing as a huge element in this project, what connections, if any, do you see between your work in this project and your growth as a writer?
All the different critiques we did helped me guide my though process and writing. On my own I don't give myself much of a path, but with other minds helping me develop my story really gave it a whole new edge.

Exhibition
For our final product of the project, as a whole team, we composed a book. Our teachers worked hard to try and find a place to display our book so we could exhibit it. We found just the place, New Americans Museum, which was nice enough to help us with our search, and invited us to hold our exhibition there along side another artist, Shinpei Takeda. His installation was about "Arrival" and whatever that meant for you, so we all wrote poems about our 'arrival' and he figured out a way to display it.
Final bookAt the end of all the chaos we finally finished and this was the end product. The whole book has been entirely created, and produced by our class. The art work was made by one of my classmates, and it looks pretty dang good. We're all very proud of what we have composed in the little amount of time we had, but we all pulled through.
