My Road To It
Can’t believe it is time for the showcase. I remember when I was just a young boy, watching the soccer game that changed my life, the 2008 Euro Cup Final. From that day I knew that soccer was much more than just a sport, almost a form of life that I wanted to be part of. I could still feel the dirt, the grass, and the sensation of making a save. Playing with those who had the same dream drove me to overcome the challenges that would be thrown at you to get the results you want. With the help of my friends who gave me the best chance at growing in soccer, joining one of the best clubs to learn and improve your skills. There the coaches saw my heart and potential, they thought they just gave me uniform and a spot on a team. No they gave me much more, they gave me doors, hallways of possibilities and paths that I walk upon.
After multiple hard and enduring years of trying to show those who would give me the next step up, that I had what I takes to make it. Never did I know that one day, that one special person would confront and say those mind exploding words to anyone of my position, “ I like you, how about you give me an email and we can discuss your life playing for a college team.” With the only words that I could make up at the moment, with my heart beating like a wild pack of horses running down the prowl, and my brain melting to pieces like macaroni n’ cheese, “ Y-yes sir…” From that day I knew that I could make it, would make it to my dream.
That man gave me the leg up, the only thing I needed. From there I blasted through college with amazing skill on the pitch, and in the classroom. Being noticed by professional teams, I continued to amaze those who I wanted to get to. When then all of the sudden, in a blur of life here I am, 2024 making my debut to play with those who have made my journey long ago. Playing with the Spain National Team.
