Into the wild
"Then everything changed when the fire nation attacked..."
We started this project by reading the novel Into The Wild, by Jon Krakauer. We then spent the next four weeks reflecting on the book and how nature affects our lives nowadays. During those four weeks, we created handmade journals in which we would make into a scrapbook style of our 'journey' through this project, and different aspects of it. Such as; the preparation of this project, the experience of the camping trip and the reflection of it all. While doing this, we took a camping trip to Anza Borrego to test the survival item we made in Math/Physics class. We made soda can stoves for cooking, headlamps for light, and compasses for a scavenger hunt. At the camping trip we had so much freedom to do what we want as long as we don't wander too far. So mainly we would take hikes up the mountains, play sports at the site, or just hangout in the shade. I'm most proud of my soda can stoves, we cooked two amazing meals on them, we made rice, chicken and egg for our first dinner. Then for our last breakfast I made omeletes with all types of topping that my group would choose.
